Prensa Latina media cooperation highlighted in Brazil

At the XIX International Seminar of Struggles Against Neoliberalism in Niterói, Brazil, Michel Damasceno, president of the Congreso Nacional de Luchas Contra el Neoliberalismo (CNCN), praised the work of the Cuban news agency Prensa Latina. Damasceno highlighted the agency's role in disseminating information and providing alternative perspectives within Latin America and globally.

He specifically noted the 22-year cooperation between Prensa Latina and the Brazilian newspaper Inverta, emphasizing the importance of translating the agency's content into Portuguese to reach millions. Damasceno stated that in a country as significant as Brazil, such efforts help give a voice to those whom powerful entities might otherwise silence.

Additionally, Damasceno recognized the 35-year history of Inverta, describing it as Brazil's most widely circulated communist newspaper. He recalled that in 1992, Inverta took on the printing and distribution of Granma Internacional, the organ of the Communist Party of Cuba, during the country's Special Period.
