Prešov launches autumn waste collection and regional power outages

The city of Prešov has launched its autumn cleaning initiative, providing 129 large-capacity containers for bulky waste disposal. The collection period runs from September 28 to October 15. Residents can dispose of items such as furniture, carpets, and mattresses, though specific restrictions apply: tires, electronic waste, hazardous materials, construction waste, textiles, and oils must be taken to designated collection yards instead.

In the broader Prešov Region, planned electricity outages are scheduled between September 29 and October 2 due to network maintenance. Affected locations include Ostrovany, Poprad, Richvald, Ražňany, Snina, Svidník, Uloža, Veľký Šariš, Nižný Slavkov, Ubľa, Holčíkovce, and Bzenov. These outages are expected to last several hours and impact dozens of service points across these municipalities.
