PRES Toruń takes 20-point lead in PGE Ekstraliga final
PRES Grupa Deweloperska Toruń secured a commanding 55-35 victory over Betard Sparta Wrocław in the first leg of the PGE Ekstraliga final at the Motoarena. Despite heavy rain causing a nearly two-hour delay and challenging track conditions, Toruń dominated the second half of the match to establish a 20-point lead heading into the second leg in Wrocław.
Key performers included Mikkel Michelsen, who scored 14 points, and junior Antoni Kawczyński, who contributed 5 points. The event saw record-breaking attendance, with 17,175 spectators filling the stadium. To support fans during the decisive rematch, a dedicated fan zone will be established at the Arena Toruń on October 4.
Torun owner Przemysław Termiński noted that the high turnout underscores the importance of local government support for professional speedway. While the large lead provides a significant advantage, riders expressed caution regarding the unpredictable nature of the sport and the upcoming rematch.
