Presanella Glacier accident injures four climbers

A group of four climbers was involved in a serious accident on the Presanella Glacier in Trentino, Italy. The incident occurred on a steep section of the glacier at an altitude of approximately 2,900 meters, near Passo Cercen and towards Forcella Freshfield.

The group reportedly lost their balance and slid approximately 150 meters down the slope. Among the group, a 26-year-old woman from Faenza sustained multiple traumas and required urgent emergency transport via helicopter to the Santa Chiara Hospital in Trento. She remained conscious during the rescue process.

The other three members of the climbing party sustained less severe injuries and were successfully evacuated. The rescue operation was coordinated by the Vermiglio Alpine and Speleological Rescue Station, utilizing the Rifugio Denza as a base of operations for the medical and rescue teams.
