President Luis Abinader inaugurates major road projects in Dominican Republic

Dominican Republic President Luis Abinader has inaugurated several major infrastructure projects aimed at improving regional connectivity and economic development.

In La Altagracia, the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) completed the reconstruction of the road connecting the Autovía del Coral to Boca de Chavón. This 5.5-kilometer paved route addresses a 25-year community demand and is expected to benefit over 3,500 residents, including local fishermen and farmers. Additionally, MOPC rehabilitated 2.62 kilometers of streets in the San Pedro sector of Higüey.

In the Santiago region, the Empresa de Generación Hidroeléctrica Dominicana (EGEHID) delivered the 13.2-kilometer El Rubio–Los Corocitos road. Built with an investment of over RD$844 million, this project marks the first time the area has been paved, significantly reducing travel times to San José de las Matas and supporting agricultural transport in the Sierra region.

Furthermore, in Los Alcarrizos, President Abinader oversaw the delivery of 1,750 property titles to approximately 7,000 people, providing legal security for residents in several sectors including Santa Rosa and La Esperanza.
