Luis Abinader inaugurates new sports facilities in Dominican Republic

President Luis Abinader has inaugurated several educational and sports infrastructure projects in the Dominican Republic. Key among these is the new covered multipurpose sports center at the Centro Educacional Santo Cura de Ars (CESCAR) in Capotillo. Built with an investment of approximately RD$30-32 million, the facility features a synthetic basketball court, FIBA-approved hoops, and amenities such as locker rooms and offices, benefiting over 1,500 students.

Additionally, the President oversaw the renovation of the Club Deportivo y Cultural Villa Francisca, a historic facility being returned to the community as a modern sports and cultural complex. Other recent infrastructure completions include a covered facility at the Instituto Politécnico Profesor Víctor Rafael Estrella Liz (La Perito), which serves over 800 students.

In the southern region, the Politécnico Mercedes Consuelo Matosen in San Juan de la Maguana also received a new covered area to promote sports and community integration. These initiatives, managed largely through the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI), aim to expand access to dignified sporting environments for students across the country.
