President Alexander Stubb visits Ukraine for independence celebrations

Finnish President Alexander Stubb and his spouse, Suzanne Innes-Stubb, are conducting a two-day visit to Kyiv, Ukraine. The visit coincides with the celebration of Ukraine’s 35th Independence Day.

During the trip, President Stubb is participating in the Ukraine–Nordic–Baltic summit and a meeting of heads of state from the ‘coalition of the willing’ supporting Ukraine. The presidential delegation includes Commander of the Defence Forces Janne Jaakkola and a business delegation.

The visit takes place amid heightened security concerns following an escalation in Russian attacks on civilian targets in Kyiv. President Stubb reaffirmed Finland's commitment to Ukraine, stating, “Finland stands by Ukraine's side today, tomorrow, and in the future.”
