President and PM honor Captain Muhammad Sarwar on 78th martyrdom anniversary

Pakistan commemorated the 78th death anniversary of Captain Muhammad Sarwar, the first officer to receive the Nishan-e-Haider, who fell on 27 July 1948 during the first Kashmir war in the Telpatra sector. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif issued messages praising his sacrifice, calling him a lasting example of duty, bravery and patriotism.

Top military leaders—including Field Marshal Asim Munir, Navy Chief Admiral Naved Ashraf and Air Chief Marshal Zahir Ahmed Babur Sodho—also paid tribute, highlighting Sarwar’s extraordinary leadership and his role as a symbol of Pakistan’s indomitable defence. The tributes underscored his legacy as an inspiration for future generations.
