President António José Seguro Calls for Fast Audit of Police and Stresses Policy Continuity in Portugal
President António José Seguro said the audit of the Polícia Judiciária must produce results quickly, stressing that swift conclusions are essential for preserving democratic institutions. He made the remarks after the Justice Minister Rita Alarcão Júdice requested the audit and while inaugurating a residential facility for the elderly in Vila Chã de Sá, Viseu.
Separately, Seguro urged the continuation of stable public policies despite changes of government, citing the tourism sector as an example. He highlighted the work of Secretary of State for Tourism Pedro Machado, noting that tourism brings about 30 million visitors annually and supports the national economy. During the opening of the 634th Feira de São Mateus, he received the city key from Mayor João Azevedo, underscoring the importance of regional contributions.
