President António José Seguro calls for tax stability and less bureaucracy

President António José Seguro addressed the 8th Congress of Certified Accountants in Lisbon, calling for the State to act as an ally to the profession. He emphasized the need for stability in tax legislation, increased judicial speed, reduced bureaucracy, and the modernization of administrative procedures.

Seguro noted that while digitalization and predictive analysis are becoming standard, generative artificial intelligence presents significant technical and ethical challenges. He asserted that no algorithm can replace the professional judgment, independence, and integrity required of certified accountants.
