President Bola Tinubu settles airline debts and mourns State House official

President Bola Tinubu has initiated the payment of N18 billion in outstanding severance benefits to 2,700 former employees of the defunct Nigeria Airways Limited. The airline was liquidated in 2004, and many workers had been awaiting their entitlements for 22 years.

Separately, President Tinubu expressed condolences following the death of Peter Onwubuariri, an Assistant Director in the State House media unit. Onwubuariri was a key figure in managing the presidency’s communication and news dissemination. The administration noted that his passing leaves a “difficult vacuum” within the presidential communication team.
