Claudia Sheinbaum launches multibillion‑peso plan for peace, justice and tourism in Michoacán

President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo led a two‑day working tour of Michoacán, where she presented the "Plan Michoacán por la Paz y la Justicia." The programme combines historic public‑investment commitments for indigenous communities, tourism, housing and security.

Key allocations include more than 4 billion pesos for the Purépecha Justice Plan – funding health, education, roads and safety projects – and a 300‑million‑peso package to revitalize community tourism, improve lake‑sanitation infrastructure and upgrade ports on Lake Pátzcuaro. The federal tourism agency Fonatur announced 86 authenticity marks for local operators and the restoration of historic sites such as San Juan Parangaricutiro.

In the housing sector, Sheinbaum delivered 32 homes in Morelia as part of the national "Vivienda para el Bienestar" goal of building 1.8 million houses during the sexenio. The state will execute 82 000 housing actions (50 000 Infonavit, 20 000 Conavi, 12 000 Fovissste) and has restructured 97 220 previously delinquent mortgages.

The administration also highlighted a 46 percent reduction in homicide rates in the state and pledged continued coordination with local authorities to advance the plan’s infrastructure, social programmes and economic development goals.
