President Cyril Ramaphosa inaugurates Ummbila Emoyeni Wind Farm in Mpumalanga

President Cyril Ramaphosa addressed the opening ceremony of the Ummbila Emoyeni Wind Farm in Mpumalanga, South Africa. The project, operated by Seriti Green, features more than 25 wind turbines located between Bethal, Davel and Morgenzon. Ramaphosa highlighted the partnership among government, Eskom, the private sector and local communities, describing the wind farm as a milestone in South Africa’s transition to a low‑carbon energy system. He noted that Seriti Green, traditionally a coal‑industry player, is now investing in renewable energy, aligning with national policy to diversify the country’s power mix while retaining existing resources.
