President Daniel Chapo announces infrastructure projects in Funhalouro
President Daniel Chapo has announced several infrastructure and service improvements for the Funhalouro district in Inhambane province, Mozambique. During a public rally, the President confirmed that the tender process for the construction of the 110-kilometer Funhalouro-Massinga road has already been launched. Once construction begins, work will proceed from Funhalouro toward Massinga.
In addition to roadworks, the government plans to expand the Funhalouro District Hospital to accommodate a growing population. The expansion will include increased inpatient capacity, improved maternity services, and the ability to perform medical examinations that currently require travel to Massinga. The President also pledged to investigate reports of families being charged for fuel when transporting patients to other health units.
Other developmental updates include the expansion of water supply, electricity access, and banking services in the district. Chapo emphasized that improving transport and health infrastructure is essential for the community's quality of life and regional economic development.
