President Daniel Noboa inaugurates USD 5.3 million water system in Muisne
President Daniel Noboa has officially inaugurated a new potable water system in Muisne, Esmeraldas, representing an investment of approximately USD 5.3 million. The project is designed to benefit more than 36,000 residents by providing direct access to safe water through residential connections, meters, and macromeasurement systems to reduce resource loss.
The infrastructure includes treatment plants, storage tanks, pumping stations, and quality control laboratories. By modernizing the capture and distribution processes, the system aims to reduce waterborne diseases and improve public health standards. Local residents noted that the project will eliminate the previous reliance on wells, water trucks, and containers, thereby reducing household expenses.
President Noboa indicated that this intervention model will be replicated in other cantons, including Daule, Durán, Chone, and San Vicente, as well as in various sectors of the El Oro province.
