President Droupadi Murmu launches free e‑bus RAAHI and e‑Upahaar auction

President Droupadi Murmu marked the completion of four years in office by unveiling several new initiatives at Rashtrapati Bhavan. She inaugurated RAAHI (Rashtrapati Bhavan Access And Heritage Interconnector), a fare‑free electric bus service equipped with wheelchair access and operated by women drivers and conductors, aimed at providing safe, inclusive mobility for staff, residents, women, children, senior citizens and persons with disabilities.

Murmu also launched the third edition of e‑Upahaar, an online auction of 300 curated presidential gifts scheduled for 5 August to 5 September 2026, with all proceeds earmarked for social causes. Additional announcements included an e‑Audio Guide for visitors in multiple languages with a sign‑language module, the Bachpan “Bal Parisar” child‑care zone, a new service block under the Net Zero Energy Strategy, upgraded accommodation at Rashtrapati Niketan (Dehradun) and Rashtrapati Nilayam (Secunderabad), and redevelopment of staff quarters within the President’s Estate.
