President Droupadi Murmu opens Amrit Udyan summer season and confers arts awards

President Droupadi Murmu has inaugurated the Amrit Udyan Summer Annuals Edition 2026 at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The seasonal floral display will be open to the public from August 16 to September 15, 2026, between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Visitors can book access through the official Rashtrapati Bhavan visitor portal to view the landscaped gardens and seasonal flowers.

In a separate ceremony in New Delhi, President Murmu conferred the Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowships and Awards for 2024 and 2025. The honors recognize eminent artists for their contributions to music, dance, theatre, folk and tribal arts, and puppetry. During the event, the President emphasized the role of artists as custodians of India’s cultural memory and urged senior practitioners to mentor the next generation to ensure the continuity of the nation's diverse artistic traditions.
