President el-Sisi attends BRICS Summit in New Delhi

President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi participated in the 18th BRICS Summit held in New Delhi, marking Egypt's continued integration into the bloc following its official membership in January 2024. The summit focused on strengthening economic, political, and investment ties among emerging economies.

Economic data indicates significant growth in Egypt's relations with BRICS nations. Trade volume reached approximately $50.8 billion in 2024, up from $42.5 billion in 2023. Furthermore, investments from BRICS countries into Egypt saw a substantial increase, rising to $6.2 billion during the 2024/2025 fiscal year, compared to $76.2 million in the previous period.

During his address, President el-Sisi emphasized the importance of reforming the international financial system and enhancing the role of the New Development Bank to support developing nations facing financing challenges. He also highlighted the interconnectedness of regional security, food security, and energy stability, noting that Middle East stability is vital for global trade and energy markets.
