President Félix Tshisekedi launches water plant and city clean‑up in DRC towns
In the days before his arrival in Lubumbashi, municipal authorities carried out a large‑scale sanitation drive along major streets such as Kabalo and the M’siri boulevard. The effort involved clearing drainage channels, sweeping roadways and sealing illegal stalls to improve public hygiene, traffic flow and security ahead of the presidential visit.
During the same nationwide tour, President Félix Tshisekedi visited Kamina in Haut‑Lomami province, where he inaugurated the Lovoy water‑capture and treatment plant. Built under Sino‑Congolese contracts, the facility can produce 7,000 m³ of drinking water per day for the city and the nearby military base, addressing a long‑standing water shortage.
