President Ilham Aliyev visits Farhad Khalilov retrospective exhibition

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and their daughters, Leyla and Arzu Aliyeva, visited a retrospective exhibition at the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art on October 27.

The exhibition, titled “My Absheron & More,” commemorates the 80th anniversary of renowned artist and Chairman of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan, Farhad Khalilov. Organized by the Ministry of Culture, the National Museum of Art, and the Union of Artists, the event showcases over 90 works from Khalilov’s personal collection created between the 1960s and the present.

The collection includes a variety of mediums, ranging from monumental paintings to small-format graphic works. Khalilov’s oeuvre is noted for its stylistic diversity, spanning realism, avant-garde, and abstract art, with a particular focus on the landscapes and atmosphere of the Absheron Peninsula.
