President Iliana Yotova nominates Pavel Gaydarov to Bulgaria's anti‑corruption commission

Bulgarian President Iliana Yotova has nominated Pavel T. Gaydarov to become a member of the Commission for Counteracting Corruption (KPK). The nomination is made under article 7, paragraph 1, item 2 of the anti‑corruption law, which applies to public office holders.

Gaydarov, born 1 April 1979, holds a law degree from the University for National and World Economy, a bachelor’s in International Economic Relations (German), and a doctorate in civil and family law. He has extensive investigative experience focusing on economic crimes, tax offences and money laundering, having served in the Capital Investigation Service (2005), the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office (2009‑2022), the National Investigative Service (2022‑2025), and currently returns to the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office. His candidacy documents are posted on the presidential administration’s website, and a seven‑day period is opened for comments from NGOs, the Supreme Bar Council, universities and scientific bodies.
