President José Antonio Kast faces declining approval ratings in Chile

President José Antonio Kast has seen a decline in approval ratings, with recent polling placing his support below 32%. According to the Pulso Ciudadano survey, the president holds a 28.2% approval rating and a 57.6% disapproval rating, while also facing a record 57.7% distrust level.

Data from the Criteria poll shows a 31% approval rating and 58% disapproval. Political analyst Felipe Vergara from Universidad Andrés Bello suggests this decline stems from a gap between campaign promises and current realities, noting that citizens expected rapid solutions to national issues that have not materialized.

Economic concerns are driving these figures. Pulso Ciudadano reports that 49.7% of respondents view the country's economic situation negatively, with unemployment rising to become the second most significant national concern at 36.7%. Criteria indicates that job creation and better wages are top priorities for citizens, following security.
