Karol Nawrocki attends boxing gala amid controversy over machete entrance

A boxing event in Koszalin, the KAPEO Rocky Boxing Night, sparked controversy following a provocative ring entrance by Ukrainian boxer Nazri Rahimow. Rahimow, who is seeking Polish citizenship, entered the ring wearing a mask and bloodied clothing while carrying a machete as part of a stylized ‘murderer’ theme.

The entrance occurred while Polish President Karol Nawrocki was attending the event as a VIP guest in the ring-side lodge. The spectacle drew criticism from journalists and social media users, who described the behavior as “absolutely unacceptable,” particularly given the President's presence. Government spokesperson Adam Szłapka also criticized the President's participation in the event.

Despite the controversy, the main event saw Polish boxer Kacper Meyna secure a victory. Meyna defeated Argentina's Victor Emilio Ramirez via a unanimous decision after ten rounds to claim the WBA Continental heavyweight title. President Nawrocki, who maintains a personal relationship with Meyna, entered the ring following the match to congratulate the winner.
