President Kast calls for national unity at Teletón launch
Chilean President José Antonio Kast participated in the inaugural day of the Teletón solidarity campaign, calling for national unity and collective action. During his speech, Kast emphasized the importance of collaboration between the private sector and citizens, noting that the initiative serves 32,000 children and families through 16 care centers across the country, including a facility in Punta Arenas.
Kast highlighted the role of approximately 1,200 employees and 8,000 volunteers in sustaining the organization. He remarked that while resources are necessary, the heart and commitment of the people are what truly drive the mission. The President also expressed gratitude to Health Minister May Chomali and the private sector for their support, suggesting that without the Teletón, the nation might face increased medical waiting lists.
