President Kast supports San Bernardo mayor following death threats

President José Antonio Kast visited the municipality of San Bernardo to express support for Mayor Christopher White following death threats allegedly orchestrated by Juan Flores Valenzuela, known as ‘Indio Juan’. During the visit, Kast met with local authorities to signal that the state will not yield to pressure from organized crime.

Kast described the fight against drug trafficking and criminal gangs as a ‘matter of State’ that transcends specific administrations. He emphasized that authorities and citizens can rely on state protection, warning that those who threaten democratically elected representatives will face the full force of the law.

Mayor White expressed gratitude for the presidential support, noting that while recent days have been difficult, the threat has served as an opportunity to strengthen local management. Both leaders agreed to set aside political differences to focus on the common goal of confronting organized crime.
