President José Antonio Kast and First Lady María Pía Adriasola visited the Arica and Parinacota region, accompanied by ministers of Health, Public Security, Public Works, Transport and Telecommunications, and Defense. During the trip they announced a series of initiatives: the Health Ministry will start a prefactibility study for a new High‑Complexity Hospital in Arica; the President and the Security Minister signed legislative measures to strengthen migration control and border security; and the Public Works Minister presented plans for road upgrades, water‑resource projects and improved regional connectivity. Regional delegate Cristián Sayes highlighted the “intense agenda” as a clear sign of the government’s commitment to the strategic northern border area, noting the presence of multiple ministers on the ground to assess local needs and accelerate projects. The visit also featured the inauguration of Parque El Alto and inspections of military facilities near the border.
