President Laura Fernández Delgado outlines security, state reform and investment agenda in Costa Rica
President Laura Fernández Delgado met with more than 150 business leaders from the Cámara de Comercio de Costa Rica, reaffirming a government agenda that prioritises restoring public security, modernising the state, combating illicit trade, and accelerating strategic infrastructure projects such as roads, ports, airports and rail. She also highlighted the need to harmonise the national electricity system and attract new investment to boost formal employment.
At the International Congress of Political Communication in San José, consultants from across Latin America discussed the challenges of municipal governance, arguing that modern local administrations must communicate the purpose behind projects rather than just the technical outcomes. They stressed that linking public works to human‑centred reasons can build lasting citizen loyalty and stronger community identity.
