President Lee calls for citizen participation to drive national reform
President Lee Jae-myung has called for active citizen participation to drive national reform, stating that the impeachment of the previous administration only prevented decline and that the election of a new president marks the beginning, not the end, of the reform process.
In a message posted to X (formerly Twitter), Lee emphasized that reform requires momentum derived from the people. He urged citizens to engage in daily actions—such as posting comments, sending messages, and using social media to share facts—to counter misinformation from certain media outlets and manipulated YouTube channels.
Invoking the words of the late President Kim Dae-jung, Lee noted that ‘an inaction conscience is on the side of evil.’ He expressed his commitment to fulfilling the responsibilities of his office and turning the dreams of the people into reality, while acknowledging that he cannot achieve these goals alone without the active involvement and encouragement of the public.
