President Lee Jae-myung hosts dinner to promote Democratic Party unity

President Lee Jae-myung hosted a dinner at the Blue House on the 19th for the newly elected Democratic Party leader Kim Min-seok and former leadership candidates Jung Cheong-rae and Song Young-gil. The meeting aimed to foster unity following intense factional competition during the recent party convention.

During the dinner, Kim Min-seok apologized for excessive expressions used during the election process and called for party unity to support government operations. Jung Cheong-rae emphasized the need for the party and government to act as a “community of destiny” to ensure future electoral victories. Song Young-gil expressed regret over recent controversies and noted the necessity of coordination between the party and the presidential office regarding real estate taxation.

The meal, described as “Harmony Yukhoe,” featured ingredients from the candidates' respective hometowns—beef from Jongno, ginseng from Geumsan, and citron from Goheung—to symbolize national unity and recovery.
