President Lee Jae Myung of South Korea attacked over criminal law revision and joint military academy

Acting leader and floor leader of the ruling Democratic Party, Han Byung‑do, said a unified armed forces academy is needed for modern warfare and to address declining manpower. He pledged safeguards for the new Serious Crimes Investigation Agency to curb police investigative abuses.

Opposition People Power Party leader Jang Dong‑hyeok condemned President Lee Jae Myung after Lee admitted he had not read the revised Criminal Procedure Act, calling the president unfit for office and warning the administration could collapse. The amendment to limit prosecutors' investigative powers passed the National Assembly plenary meeting.
