President Lee Jae‑myung, while on a state visit to Brazil, chaired a video meeting with senior aides and said South Korea will maintain the petroleum top‑price system until oil‑price volatility caused by the Middle‑East conflict subsides. He urged that fuel‑tax reductions remain in place and warned that additional relief for diesel‑dependent groups such as truck drivers, farmers and migrant workers would be considered if conditions worsen.
