He also opened the Palo Verde‑Laguna Verde road in Montecristi, linked to the Manzanillo port project, and the Cruce La Lana‑Manuel Bueno‑El Aguacate road connecting Dajabón and Santiago Rodríguez, improving border‑community transport. The road works include 10 km of new pavement, four bridges and an investment of over 670 million Dominican pesos, with further extensions underway. In Montecristi he also launched a new centre of the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) and received a recognition from livestock producers for supporting dairy production.
Later in Santo Domingo, Abinader presented the 2026 Medalla al Mérito Magisterial to exemplary teachers, awarding the Bronze Stimulus prize to Nathalie Elianna García, the Silver Recognition prize to Yahaira Constanza Rosario, and the Gold Honor prize to Arquímedes Jerez de la Cruz.
