Dominican Republic President Abinader leads social and housing initiatives
President Luis Abinader has conducted a series of social development activities across the Dominican Republic, focusing on housing security and infrastructure. In Santo Domingo Norte, the government delivered 422 property titles to provide legal security to approximately 1,692 people. In Santo Domingo Este, 97 apartments in the Las Acacias I residential project were handed over to families, supported by financing from Banreservas at a fixed 8% annual interest rate.
Infrastructure improvements were also a key focus, including the inauguration of the first phase of the Los Girasoles ravine sanitation project in the Distrito Nacional. This project, which involves an investment exceeding RD$1,000 million, aims to improve drainage and sanitary conditions for over 40,000 residents. Additionally, the government provided housing solutions for 40 families affected by the sanitation works.
Social assistance programs, such as ‘La Ruta Comunitaria’ led by the General Directorate of Community Development (DGDC), provided medical services and essential goods to vulnerable populations in El Seibo and Las Matas de Farfán. These efforts included medical consultations in various specialties, home improvements, and the distribution of appliances and food rations.
