President Lula visits Cariri to discuss water security and infrastructure

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva visited the Cariri region in Ceará to address water security and participate in political events. During his visit, the President emphasized the importance of the São Francisco River transposition and the Ceará Water Belt (CAC) projects as essential measures to combat drought and ensure regular water supply for states including Ceará, Paraíba, and Rio Grande do Norte.

In Crato, Mayor André Barreto highlighted the necessity of cooperation between federal, state, and municipal governments. He noted several ongoing investments, including the R$ 135 million Rio Grangeiro Canal project under the PAC program, new Minha Casa Minha Vida housing developments, and advancements in education and healthcare. Healthcare improvements mentioned include hospital infrastructure upgrades and preparations for the first hepatic transplant center in the Northeast interior.

The President also participated in a public walk in Juazeiro do Norte alongside Governor Elmano de Freitas and various political leaders, including Senator Camilo Santana and Senate candidates.
