President Marcos pushes school and amenities for Davao's People’s Ville housing project

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. visited the People’s Ville development in Davao’s Calinan District and said a school is needed to serve the many children living there. He emphasized that the government’s housing program should create complete communities, adding plans for recreational and sports facilities such as a swimming pool, clubhouse and basketball court. The project will eventually comprise 42 residential buildings with more than 7,000 housing units, aiming for completion by the end of next year.

In his 2026 State of the Nation Address, Marcos highlighted that the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) program has delivered or financed over 500,000 homes nationwide. The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development and the Pag‑IBIG Fund have released ₱517.45 billion in loans, financing 379,294 units, and increased the loan limit to ₱10 million while offering a subsidized 3% rate for socialized housing. These measures aim to make home ownership more affordable for Filipino families.
