President Marcos Jr. begins five-day working visit to Singapore
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has arrived in Singapore for a five-day working visit from October 7 to 11. The trip, conducted at the invitation of Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, aims to deepen bilateral ties, expand economic engagement, and advance cooperation in key development sectors.
Marcos’ itinerary includes attending the 24th Forbes Global CEO Conference to engage with global business leaders and showcase Philippine investment priorities. He is also scheduled to visit the Singapore Nuclear Research and Safety Institute to study the nation’s expertise in nuclear technology and safety.
Addressing social media concerns regarding potential public spending, the Philippine Palace and the Embassy in Singapore clarified that taxpayer money will not be used for the President’s ticket to the Formula 1 Grand Prix. Officials stated that the ticket and an accompanying dinner were provided via a personal invitation from Prime Minister Wong, meaning the government will incur no expenses for his admission to the race.
