President Marcos Jr. visits Pangasinan food manufacturer

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. visited the Nutridense Food Manufacturing Corporation (NFMC) in Santa Barbara, Pangasinan, to inspect facilities producing nutritious food for government programs. The company supplies the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) with food for school-based feeding initiatives and disaster-stricken communities.

During the visit, the President discussed potential government assistance to scale up operations. NFMC has seen significant growth, increasing its workforce from seven employees in 2013 to 300 in 2026, while annual production rose from 2 million to 10 million units. The facility utilizes research-based formulations, supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI), to produce items such as enhanced Nutribun, iron-fortified rice, and disaster-ready meals.

Marcos emphasized the importance of supporting such operations to secure the national food supply and combat malnutrition. The visit also included observations of the YAKAP and Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment (GAMOT) programs at Sta. Barbara West Central School.
