President Milanović receives Croatian robotics team
Croatian President Zoran Milanović met with members of the 'Team Croatia 2026' informatics delegation ahead of their participation in the FIRST Global Challenge. The international robotics competition is scheduled to take place from October 7 to 10 in Incheon, South Korea.
The Croatian team consists of high school students and mentors from the 'NET' Informatics Club in Ivanić-Grad and the 'Pozitron' Center in Poreč. Representing Croatia among participants from 190 countries, the team will compete in two categories under the theme 'Igniting Innovation'.
One of the team's projects focuses on forest fire prevention by researching soil dryness, a factor that increases fire spread risks. The competition treats robotics as a collaborative sport where teams are randomly paired into alliances, emphasizing communication, international cooperation, strategy, and adaptability alongside technical skill.
