President Mirza Fakhrul to lay foundation stone for Thakurgaon University

President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is conducting a two-day official visit to his home district of Thakurgaon. This marks his first visit to the region since assuming the presidency on August 21.

During the visit, the President is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the proposed Thakurgaon University in the Jamalpur area of the Sadar Upazila. His itinerary includes visiting his parents' graves at Senua cemetery, meeting with local dignitaries and relatives, and attending a reception organized by a citizen committee at the Thakurgaon Government Boys' High School field.

Security measures have been heightened across the district for the presidential visit. The President arrived via helicopter at the Mohammad Ali Stadium and will participate in various official protocols, including receiving a guard of honor at the Circuit House.
