President Mulino visits Tuas Port to study automation model

Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino visited the Tuas Port, a facility designed to become the world’s largest fully automated container port. Mulino stated that the facility serves as a model for Panama, suggesting that a single automated megaport could provide the country with a competitive advantage in the Americas similar to the advantage Singapore holds in Asia.

In other domestic developments, Law 6 is under discussion in the National Assembly. The proposed reform would allow for the cancellation of concessions for electricity distributors that fail to meet service quality standards, specifically aiming to provide electricity to approximately 58,000 families currently without service.
