President Murmu meets Ganjam folk and tribal artists

A delegation of over 90 folk and tribal artists from the Ganjam district of Odisha met with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. The group, consisting of five different cultural organizations, was led by Ganjam Collector V. Keerthi Vasan.

The visit was an official invitation extended by the President following her recent trip to Ganjam, where she witnessed traditional music and dance performances in Taptapani. During the interaction, President Murmu emphasized the necessity of preserving India’s traditional art forms and encouraged the artists to remain rooted in their cultural heritage while embracing modern development.

Addressing the performers, the President also highlighted the importance of education and skill acquisition for both individual progress and societal advancement. She urged the artists to support younger generations in pursuing education alongside their artistic excellence to ensure the continuity of their traditions.
