President Museveni pledges Shs2bn to pastors’ SACCO

President Yoweri Museveni has pledged Shs2 billion to a newly formed SACCO for pastors during the Big Fix Holy Spirit Global Conference in Kampala. Addressing the event, which was hosted by Pastors Robert and Jessica Kayanja, Museveni commended Kayanja for integrating religious ministry with community development and agricultural production.

Specifically, Museveni highlighted Kayanja’s initiatives in Karamoja, such as the ‘Plough, Plant, Produce’ mechanized farming project, and Gold Meadow Farm in Kiryandongo, which focuses on livestock and crop production. The President emphasized that economic prosperity must be driven by production and trade rather than aid, citing Uganda’s growth in coffee and milk production as evidence of the need for larger regional markets.

Furthermore, Museveni expressed support for African integration and the political integration of East Africa, welcoming the conference's discussions on strengthening regional ties and the East African Common Market.
