President Nandi-Ndaitwah commends One Economy Foundation for youth empowerment

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has commended the One Economy Foundation for its role in youth empowerment and human capital development in Namibia. Speaking at the foundation’s annual fundraising gala in Windhoek, the President emphasized that investing in the youth is the best way for a nation to ensure sustainable growth.

Nandi-Ndaitwah noted that Namibia is a youthful nation, with approximately 71% of the population under the age of 35. She highlighted that the foundation’s initiatives complement government efforts to build capacity and skills among young people. The President also expressed gratitude to Monica Geingos, the founder of the One Economy Foundation, for her commitment to these causes.

Founded in 2016, the One Economy Foundation utilizes a multisectoral approach to support individuals aged 13 to 35. Its programs focus on areas such as sexual and reproductive health, mental health, STEM training, and the prevention of gender-based violence. The organization operates through the #BeFree youth campus in Windhoek and mobile clinics across the Khomas, Oshana, Erongo, and Kavango regions.
