President Nandi-Ndaitwah promotes AfCFTA and China ties
President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has called on Namibian entrepreneurs to expand their reach beyond domestic borders by leveraging the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Speaking at the 25th Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair, she emphasized the importance of connecting local businesses to regional and international markets. This year's fair featured 36 international exhibitors from countries including South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt, and Ghana.
In a separate address during the opening of the Ohangwena Times Square Shopping Complex, President Nandi-Ndaitwah highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral economic ties with China to drive development and employment. She announced that the government is prepared to issue five-year visas to serious investors to facilitate growth. The President also urged investors to prioritize skill transfers and called for the inclusion of local product sections in retail spaces to support domestic industries.
