Romanian leaders call for diaspora engagement at youth forum

Romanian President Nicușor Dan and Prime Minister Luca Niculescu emphasized the importance of integrating the diaspora into the country's development during the Forum of Young Romanians Everywhere at Cotroceni Palace.

President Dan called for the transformation of intentions into concrete results, urging authorities to establish clear projects, action calendars, and realistic objectives to utilize the skills and experience of Romanians working or studying abroad. He noted that while Romania has progressed significantly through EU and NATO membership, challenges remain that require international expertise.

Prime Minister Niculescu stated that investing in people is a government priority and that the relationship with the diaspora must move beyond ceremonial meetings and patriotic appeals. He argued that the state must provide real answers to questions regarding professional opportunities and the ability to build a future in Romania, ensuring that young people do not feel forced to choose between their home country and the rest of the world.
