President Pellegrini calls for quality in Slovak Environment Ministry reshuffle
Slovak President Peter Pellegrini has stated that any potential changes to the Ministry of Environment must prioritize professional quality over mere political maneuvering. Speaking to TA3, Pellegrini noted that higher-quality candidates exist in the field, specifically mentioning current State Secretary Filip Kuffa as a potential successor to Minister Tomáš Taraba.
The potential reshuffle follows tensions between Minister Taraba and the SNS party. SNS leader Andrej Danko indicated that the situation regarding Taraba should be resolved by mid-September, suggesting that Kuffa is the intended nominee for the ministerial post. Pellegrini emphasized that his priority is maintaining a functional government ahead of elections, insisting that personnel changes must move the government forward rather than simply serving to maintain stability.
Additionally, the President confirmed plans to deliver a report on the state of the republic at the beginning of the September parliamentary session to address significant societal issues.
