President Peter Pellegrini promotes intergenerational connection in Košice

Slovak President Peter Pellegrini visited the Bethesda Senior facility in Košice for the inaugural ‘Message to the Future Generation’ event. During the visit, Pellegrini emphasized that the wisdom and life experiences of seniors are irreplaceable resources that can help shape the character and perspectives of younger generations.

As part of the ceremony, a commemorative lime tree was planted. Seniors participated in the project by writing messages, advice, and life lessons, which they hung on the tree. Pellegrini noted that such initiatives create spaces for natural intergenerational connection and stressed that aging or retirement should not lead to social exclusion. He called on society to create environments where older citizens can remain active and continue contributing to their communities.
