President Petr Pavel denies withdrawing competence lawsuit
The Office of the President of the Czech Republic has denied claims that President Petr Pavel intends to withdraw his competence lawsuit filed with the Constitutional Court. The denial follows social media posts by Aleš Svoboda, who falsely claimed that Pavel was considering retracting the lawsuit to improve relations with the government.
The original lawsuit was filed in June after the government excluded Pavel from the presidential delegation to the NATO summit in Ankara. Through this legal action, Pavel requested that the court define the scope of presidential competencies and mandate that the government provide full cooperation and remove administrative obstacles to his constitutional duties.
