President Prabowo orders Energy Minister Bahlil to end Kalimantan outages and keep fuel prices stable

President Prabowo Subianto instructed Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia to take immediate, measured steps with state electricity firm PT PLN (Persero) to resolve ongoing power outages in several areas of Kalimantan. Bahlil confirmed the blackouts are caused by maintenance work and network issues, not by a shortage of energy supply, and pledged coordination with PLN to restore full grid stability.

The president also directed the ministry to maintain the price of subsidised gasoline and diesel (BBM) and to avoid any increase. Bahlil said the government will keep BBM subsidies unchanged and may adjust non‑subsidised fuel prices downward if global crude oil prices fall, ensuring affordability for consumers.
