President Prabowo suspends Bangka Belitung Vice Governor

President Prabowo Subianto has issued a decree to temporarily suspend Hellyana from her position as Vice Governor of the Bangka Belitung Islands province. The suspension follows her involvement in a criminal case.

According to Presidential Decree Number 102/P/2026, signed in Jakarta on September 23, 2026, the move is a standard administrative procedure under the 2023 Law on Regional Government. This procedure applies when a regional head or deputy is indicted for a criminal offense while legal proceedings are ongoing.

To ensure the continuity of public services and government operations, Governor Hidayat Arsani will temporarily assume the duties and responsibilities of the Vice Governor. The Bangka Belitung Provincial Government stated it respects the legal process and maintains the principle of the presumption of innocence.
